VICE - oh boy what can I say? It's so hard to really like a movie about a man you hate so much. But I have to say, it was pretty good. So why do I hate Dick Cheney so much. Well, mostly because I have the sense that the only thing he really wanted was power. In the beginning of the movie when he first goes to Washington as a legislative intern, he is in a group of many interns listening to various congressmen talking to them, and Donald Rumsfeld speaks to them, and shows that he has no scruples whatsoever. Another young man is sitting next to Cheney, and asks if he would mind if he took the job with a democratic congressman, and Cheney says, "what's Rumsfeld?" The other guy says, Republican, and Cheney say, "Oh well, that's what I am" - clearly not having ever thought about it before that second. He just liked the way Rumsfeld seemed to be ruthless.
Which just so happened to be exactly what Cheney was. There may have been other people who were involved in our country going to war with Iraq, but there was nobody who was more conniving, more sneaky and more ruthless than Dick Cheney. So enough. I couldn't stand it, but the truth is - it was actually a very good movie. I say 3 paws.
