This was a really good movie. It could have been really violent and cliche, but I don't think it was. Yes there is violence - an unarmed black teen is shot, and if you saw a trailer, you know that already. But the question is how are they going to deal with that. What are the ramifications of this tragedy, particularly for the young black girl who was in the car with this guy, and who was a close friend from the time they were little?
It explores this from a black cultural view, and we get to see lots of interactions that are never really shown on TV when something like this happens. I really hope you take the time to see this. 4 paws
